WHY I SUPPORT QUANTITY OVER QUALITY

WHY I SUPPORT QUANTITY OVER QUALITY

Okay, I want you all to hear me out. This is big for me to say—especially with all the Virgo placements I have, LOL.

Quantity > Quality

Now, why do I say this?

“Quality over quantity” can lead to a perfectionist mindset and reduce your output.

Generally speaking, this is all subjective anyway.

When you obsess over perfecting every piece of work, you end up producing less.

There’s a social side to being a creative—because why make something amazing in isolation? The feedback and engagement you get from sharing your work matter too. The more you create and promote, the more you resonate with people, which can lead to patrons, collectors, listeners, etc.

Each creation is a learning experience

It doesn’t need to be perfect. Every piece you put out is a step forward in honing your style, even if it’s not your personal favorite. And here’s the thing—many artists’ biggest hits are songs they didn’t even care for or felt disconnected from, but the audience loved them. That just proves why we must detach slightly from our work and put it out there without overthinking.

The more you create, the more you improve. Each piece helps you sharpen your skills and refine your unique style.

Producing at an increased output helps you recognize what makes your art unique. Quantity leads to clarity and, eventually, quality.

This overlaps with something I live by—the 1% Better Rule. Small, consistent improvements compound over time, leading to gradual yet significant progress. By consistently creating and putting out work, even if it’s not perfect, you’re continuously getting better. And that’s 100% better than doing nothing. That creative muscle strengthens with use, and over time, it directly adds to your quality.

Artists like Yeat, YoungBoy, Gucci Mane, Iayze, Certified Trapper, Sheefy McFly, etc., are perfect examples of how increased output contributes to visibility. You have to feed your audience.

Because do you want your output to give off the energy of someone motivated and consistent or someone who’s just "in the works"?

Don’t be the guy always saying, "Coming soon."
